Pints from the Past: Death and Burial in Oregon

Join us as we welcome Elizabeth Fournier, the Green Reaper, to discuss death and burial in Oregon. She will talk about The Oregon Trail, otherwise known as The Nation's Longest Graveyard, and the history of death rituals along the trail and in Oregon. 

Elizabeth Fournier is known as The Green Reaper, a name she has affectionately been given as the green burial funeral director, educator and advocate who is always ready to lend a hand, or a shovel. She has had the pleasure of assisting people with sustainable burial options and loves helping in this aspect of death. She says it truly makes people's eyes sparkle to feel as though their last act on earth contributes to a positive purpose. Those who have laid loved ones to rest this way have found comfort in knowing the body will return to the earth as the circle of life continues.

This program is offered by the Lake Oswego Public Library in cooperation with the Lake Theater & Café. Admission is free and no ticket is required (though food and drink purchase is encouraged to offset the cost to the Lake Theater). Doors open at 6:30, the presentation begins at 7:00.
