Pints from the Past: The Stories Behind Our Streets
This month's Pints from the Past is hosted by The Oswego Heritage Council’s Executive Director Kathryn Sinor, on the topic of “The Stories Behind Our Streets.” This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library.
Have you ever driven along a road and wondered where it got its name? Have you wondered why certain neighborhoods look the way they do, and who made those choices? From main roads to back streets, from bustling neighborhoods to what-might-have-been development projects, discover the stories behind the streets. In this lively presentation, we'll dig into archival records, city ordinances, and historic photographs to understand the local families that gave their names and the forces that shaped the roads we walk and drive everyday.
This program is offered by the Lake Oswego Public Library in cooperation with the Lake Theater & Cafe. Admission is free and no ticket is required (though food and drink purchases are encouraged to offset the cost to the Lake Theater). Doors open at 6:30, the presentation begins at 7:00.
The Oswego Heritage House will be celebrating the grand reopening of their Museum space on January 16, 2026! Find out more and join the celebration here.
Lake Theater & Cafe is located at 106 North State Street, Lake Oswego. For more information, contact Joshua Macias at jmacias@lakeoswego.city or 503-675-2535.
