Curious about the practice of mindfulness meditation? Don't miss this free public talk hosted by the Lake Oswego Public Library as part of the LO Spring Into Wellness series.  No sign up necessary!. Learn the science of why meditation is so effective in reducing stress and promoting health and happiness. Speaker Surja Tjahaja also includes a guided meditation and a question and answer session.  

 

Bio: Surja Tjahaja

Surja Tjahaja holds a MBA degree in International Business from the University of Southern California. He has practiced meditation for over 20 years and is especially interested in how meditation promotes neuroplasticity and healing. A graduate of the Chaplaincy Program at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies in California, Mr. Tjahaja has served as a volunteer chaplain at Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in San Francisco. He has taught over 900 students through his weekly meditation classes in the Portland metro over the past ten years. He now serves on the board of directors of BRAINet, the volunteer outreach organization of the OHSU Brain Institute. His “Top-of-Mind” blog is on his web site: www.mindfulnessmeditation.us.
