Tired of the Algorithm? How Librarians Find Reliable News Sources (Digital Dive #4)

Monday, September 15, 2025 - 10:00am to 11:30am

This is the fourth class in the series, "The Digital Dive," led by Adult Services Librarian April Younglove. Designed to help you navigate the rapidly-changing world of information with confidence, this series empowers you with essential fact-checking skills.

Had enough of the algorithm deciding what news you see? Join us to learn how to take control by finding high-quality news sources and spotting bias. You’ll gain practical strategies for vetting information and discover great resources—like the library’s free digital news subscriptions and databases—to keep you informed.

This class will be held at the Adult Community Center located at 505 G Ave, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. Please note that the first class of the Digital Dive was held at the Lake Oswego Public Library, while classes 2 to 5 are hosted at the Adult Community Center (ACC).

A recording of the first class, "Is it AI or Is it Real? How to Spot Computer-Generated Content Like a Librarian," held on March 13th, is available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zviW8UQUhlc.
