Watershed Book Club (renamed Natural History Book Group)
The Watershed Book Club (now known as the Natural History Book Group), led by the Oswego Lake Watershed Council, will begin meeting at Lake Oswego Public Library. The club welcomes new members at its bimonthly meetings on the second Tuesday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November) in the Library Meeting Room on the 2nd floor.
Founded on the recognition that Indigenous peoples have maintained a deep and reciprocal relationship with the land now known as Lake Oswego for millennia, the group acknowledges this history as an essential grounding for its work. Through participant-selected readings that focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge, members explore how literature and nonfiction can deepen understanding of the watershed and inspire practical steps toward a more just relationship with both the land and its original caretakers.
In January, join the conversation on Where We Call Home: Lands, Seas, and Skies of the Pacific Northwest by Josephine Woolington, winner of the 2024 Oregon Book Award for General Nonfiction.
