World Cinema Series: Past Lives (Korean)
The Lake Oswego Public Library is excited to announce the World Cinema Series, a new program in partnership with The Lake Theater Cafe. Discover a diverse selection of films from around the world, presented with English subtitles. After each screening, join us for thoughtful discussions exploring different cultures and cinematic styles.
Enjoy free admission to these films, while savoring delicious food and drinks available for purchase at The Lake Theater Cafe. The World Cinema Series will take place on the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 PM.
Library patrons can also stream the films on the Kanopy streaming service using their Lake Oswego Public Library card.
Our inaugural film, Past Lives, is a critically acclaimed Korean romantic drama by Celine Song. This poignant story follows two childhood friends over twenty years, delving into themes of love, fate, and the paths not taken.
A special introduction will be given by Dr. Jungmin Kwon, an associate professor of digital culture and film studies in the School of Film at Portland State University.
