World Cinema Series: The Way He Looks (Portuguese)
This month’s film in our World Cinema Series is The Way He Looks, presented in Portuguese with English subtitles. This tender coming‑of‑age story follows Leo, a blind teenager whose world expands when he befriends the charismatic Gabriel, sparking new feelings, shifting friendships, and themes of identity and belonging.
A board member of the LO for LOve group, the organization behind May's Pride LO celebration, will introduce the film. After the screening, viewers are invited to stay for a moderated discussion exploring the themes and message of the film.
This screening is part of the Lake Oswego Public Library's World Cinema Series, scheduled the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm to showcase diverse international films. Presented in cooperation with the The Lake Theater & Cafe , admission is free and no ticket is required (though food and drink purchases are encouraged to offset the cost to the Lake Theater).
If you are unable to attend, The Way He Looks is available on Kanopy a free streaming service available through the Lake Oswego Public Library.
Lake Theater and Cafe is located at 106 N. State Street, Lake Oswego. For more information, contact April Younglove at ayounglove@lakeoswego.city or (503) 534-5667.
