Hunger Fighters Partnership at the Market
We are excited to announce our collaboration with Hunger Fighters Oregon, an organization committed to providing reliable access to nutritious food and essential hygiene items in an inclusive, accepting environment.
Gleaning at the Lake Oswego Farmers Market with Hunger Fighters Oregon is a collaborative effort to rescue surplus produce and combat food waste. Volunteers gather excess fruits and vegetables generously donated by vendors, ensuring that no edible item goes to waste. The gleaned produce is then distributed to the Hunger Fighters Oregon food pantry, providing nutritious sustenance to those in need and fostering a sense of community solidarity.
In addition, every Saturday at the market, the Lake Oswego Farmers' Market will be accepting food donations to support families in need within our community. You can bring items from home, or as you shop for your fresh produce and artisanal goods, consider picking up an extra item or two to donate. Donations will be accepted at both our Market Information Booth and our Merchant Services Booth near the restrooms.
