New City Hall Community Forum

Wednesday, August 30, 2017 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Lake Oswego is building a new City Hall and Police Facility! Come share your thoughts on different site plan ideas and leave your mark on the vision for a new civic center for your community.  The forum will be held at City Hall in the City Council Chambers starting at 6 p.m.

The plan for the civic center is two new buildings along A Avenue between 3rd and 4th streets.  The Police Facility will be constructed on the corner of A Avenue and 3rd street and feature a two-story office building above 1 1/2 floors of below-grade secured parking for police vehicles and staff.  Access to parking would be off of Third Street as well as from a new connection to existing below-grade parking under the new City Hall.  The concept also includes up to 5,000 square feet of active public space in the building along A Avenue and the LORA Board identified the Lake Oswego Arts Council and the Lake Oswego Booktique as the preferred tenants.

City Hall will be demolished and reconstructed on it's current site.  A programming and space analysis has not been completed for the new City Hall, but it is expected to be a 3 story building above one story of below grade parking with between 30,000 and 35,000 square feet of office space (existing City Hall is 39,000 square feet).

At this meeting the participants will be asked for feedback on different schemes for the site and for their input on the vision for the exterior spaces of the development.
