Create a Resilience Map

Sunday, April 27, 2025 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

An artistic exploration of the tools of resilience led by Kirsten Carpentier

All of the main characters of How to Read a Book have experienced at least one major loss and have to use different tools such as courage and affinity to rebuild new lives. Together we will identify our own tools of resilience and with black paper, colored pencils, and acrylic markers we will create a colorful map of personal tools we have personally used after a major life change. Class limited to 12 participants age 18+. No artistic experience is necessary, but registration is required.

Kirsten is a multimedia artist based in the Pacific Northwest. She has been facilitating art workshops for over 30 years and loves to empower artists of all ages to find their own artistic voice. She believes that through creativity of all sorts we are able to witness each other's unique gifts, experience new insights about ourselves, and find new communities. She has a Masters in Social Work, and has worked with diverse populations, including homeless families and cancer survivors. She is a passionate international traveler, and has spent much of her life on one journey or another. Her greatest teachers have been her 3 children.
