Glaciers, Art and Traveling to the Arctic and Antarctica - 2/19

Monday, February 19, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

During Chad “Fez” Gaetz’s years as an expedition leader in Antarctica, he developed awe for the natural form, which now shapes his artistic instincts.  Beholding Laughton glacier, just outside of Skagway, Alaska, Fez was captivated by the miles long, meters thick 10,000 year old ice.  As the son of a builder and a florist, and a student of ice forms in Polar regions, Fez was inspired to create giant flower sculptures as large as icebergs.  Hear Fez describe his adventurous life in Antarctica and talk about his art and influences.
