HYBRID: Housing and Resource Navigation After Release

Wednesday, April 16, 2025 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

As Program Director at Insight to Wellbeing, Bekah Raftery will discuss their work with groups in prisons across Oregon, guiding participants to discover that they are not broken and don’t need fixing. Their mission is to empower individuals to reconnect with their innate strength and potential, fostering growth, self-understanding, and lasting change. Ms. Raftery will be joined by a program participant, Santy Sanchez.

Bekah Raftery has been working with the Insight Alliance for 2 ½ years and has witnessed firsthand the effects incarceration has on individuals and those that love them. She wants to be able to walk alongside those individuals and families, offering support and encouragement on their reentry journey. Connecting people with resources like housing, jobs, education, and clothing. She also oversees two reentry homes for female- identifying clients and manages the Peer Mentor Program, as well as the Clothing Closet. She loves going to work and getting the opportunity to help others so they don’t feel like they are alone.

Santy Sanchez joined the Insight to Wellbeing program without knowing what to expect, but it completely changed her life. She realized that while the circumstances didn’t change, her understanding did. She discovered that she had the power to see her thoughts for what they are and choose whether to believe them. This simple yet profound insight gave her agency over her mood, behavior, and how she shows up in the world.
