South Shore Fire Station Tours & Demos 4/18
At 1:00 pm and again at 2:00 pm, Lake Oswego Fire will provide a brief hands-on training focused on lifesaving bleeding control skills. Station Tours will be self-paced but with plenty of Lake Oswego Fire Department Staff to answer questions and provide information about the South Shore Fire Station Project. South Shore Fire Station, 1880 South Shore Blvd., 1:00-3:00 pm
In these demos, Lake Oswego Fire crews will present a short, modified Stop the Bleed presentation demonstrating use of the kits found in all of the exterior fire station AED Boxes, as well as in all LO School District AED Boxes and at the Library. Community members will learn how to:
- Use their hands to apply direct pressure to a wound
- Pack a wound to slow or stop severe bleeding
- Properly apply a tourniquet
The goal is to help participants feel confident taking quick action in an emergency until additional help arrives.
