Timothy Egan’s Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher places photographer Edward Curtis at the center of a vast network of individuals – scholars, newspaper men, naturalists, business moguls, medicine men, the President of the United States – in his quest to record the “diminishing world” of Native Americans at the turn of the 20th century. Egan’s book explores ideas of conservation, tradition, and the humanization of marginalized peoples. Join us as we honor Timothy Egan for sharing his vision.
