Tuesday, February 19, 2019 - 7:00pm

Enrique Ruiz will discuss the history of Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN), and its impact on the Latinx community. From its beginnings as a labor union for farm workers in the 80s, PCUN has since then evolved far beyond, changing Oregon’s political landscape. A focus on PCUN’s electoral program, Acción Política PCUNista - what the program consists of, it’s impact and vision. A.P.P. has accomplished monumental feats, such as electing Oregon’s first immigrant Latina into the state legislature, electing Oregon’s first Latinx-majority school board and passing school bonds equaling to $700,000,000.
