Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

A CSA share provides the community with an opportunity to receive healthy, local and sustainably grown vegetables year-round.

CSA members pay a fee at the start of each growing season that the farmer uses to buy seeds, soil, and staff. In return, members receive a produce box during pickups, including fresh herbs and produce.

Get to know your farmers! Q & A with Sidney and Braedon of Wild Geese Farm:

How long have you been farming?

Braedon: I have been farming since 2019.

Sidney: I have been farming since 2012.

Can you briefly describe your farming experience?

Braedon: I fell in love with farming when I first worked in an orchard. I listened to leaves rustle and watched the sunlight flicker through the trees, and I knew this was the path for me. I then worked on regenerative livestock farms and diversified vegetable farms, learning everything I could about growing nutritious and sustainable food.

Sidney: I grew up in California where many of my favorite memories are from my summers at farm camp in the Central Valley. When I was 18, I started harvesting veggies and milking cows on the farm at my university, and never looked back. I spent eight years working on organic vegetable and livestock farms around New England before finally coming back to my native West Coast.

What drew you to Luscher Farm? What are you most excited about at Luscher?

Braedon: I grew up in Tigard, went to Tualatin High School, and spent a lot of time in this area. My family is here and I am honored to now be able to feed the community that raised me. I am so excited to find connections with everyone here and have strong relationships with our new CSA members.

Sidney: I have been fortunate to farm in the beautiful Willamette Valley for the past four seasons. Luscher Farm is in such a unique setting- the perfect boundary between urban and rural. I am most excited about all of the opportunities for community connections in this place that is so open to the public.

What do you love most about farming?

Braedon: I love breathing fresh air all the time and enjoying the quiet mornings. But also constantly snacking on veggies. That rocks.

Sidney: I love that I get to work outside every day, move my body, and feel connected to nature.

What’s your favorite fruit or vegetable, and favorite way to prepare it?

Braedon: I love all the herbs like basil, dill, parsley and cilantro. I like to grab some of whatever is ready and blend it with yogurt to make a creamy and delicious dressing.

Sidney: One of my favorite vegetables is bell peppers, and my favorite way to eat it is dipped in hummus!
