2026 - July 4th Star-Spangled Parade & Celebration

Saturday, July 4, 2026 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

Parade begins at 10 a.m.
Celebration at Millennium Plaza Park from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Wear your patriotic colors, decorate your wagons and join friends and neighbors for the annual Star Spangled Parade. Delight in festive floats, musical entertainment, vibrant vehicles and costumed canines as they march down A Avenue to Millennium Plaza Park via Second Street. The parade features Lake Oswego’s Fire engine, an authentic Fife & Drum Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, classic cars, White Lotus Dragon & Lion Dancing, military vehicles and more! Continue the celebration at Millennium Plaza Park with a National Anthem performed by Onry, Presentation of Colors from USMC, Concert Double Header, a pie eating contest, face painting, food vendors, activities for kids and more!

PARADE REGISTRATION: All participating vehicles, floats and large groups are required to complete a registration form. Parade registration fee is $25 for nonprofits and families; $100 for businesses. PARADE ROUTE: Parade staging takes place off Lake Garden Court and then travels to Chandler and 10th Street onto A Avenue. The route then proceeds onto Second Street to Millennium Plaza Park. Parade map HERE.

PARKING: Parking for parade viewing and celebration is available at City Hall (380 A Avenue), Public Parking lot at State Street between between A & B Avenues and Public Parking lot at State Street and Foothills Road. Access to the parking garages on First Street at Lake View Village and the Windward will be closed briefly for safety during the parade hours from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m.

PIE EATING CONTEST:  Celebrate the USA with Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation's annual Pie Eating Contest.  Commemorate our country's independence by racing to complete an "All-American" Pie.  Contest participants must be 18 years or older to enter.  Register onsite beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Parks & Recreation Booth (after the Star Spangled Parade) at Millennium Plaza Park. Contest begins at noon.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS & ROAD CLOSURES:  There are several road closures and traffic impacts as a result of the parade and staging site. 

8 a.m. Closures with exception of Parade Traffic:

  • Iron Mtn Road between Chandler & Country Club
  • Lake Garden Court
  • Chandler Road between intersection of Chandler Place & 10th Street
  • Iron Mtn between Berwick & Chandler

9:30 a.m. Closures:

  • 10th Street between Evergreen and A Avenue
  • A Avenue from 10th to 2nd Street
  • Second Street between A Avenue & Evergreen Road
  • Evergreen Road from 1st through 4th Street

No Parking: 

  • A Avenue from 10th to 2nd Street, south only
  • Second Street between A Avenue & Evergreen Road, both east and west
  • Evergreen Road from 1st thru 4th Streets, both north and south
  • Iron Mtn Road between Chandler & Country Club, both east and west 
  • Country Club between 10th and Iron Mt. Blvd., both north & south
