FAQs
Q: How much do Adaptive Sports NW programs costs with LOPR?
A: Free! ASNW programs with LOPR are no cost.
Q: What type of programs can I join?
A: Some programs are a single drop-in style event while others are recurring. There is no pre-registration required. Choose between "Try-It" programs, a specific sport, or, join us for all programs! ASNW provide experienced individuals for guidance and expertise.
Q: What do I need to participate?
A: There are only a couple things to consider before joining us. A waiver is required and can be completed online or on-site. Each program is a little bit different. Visit the program details on LOparks.org to learn more about each program.
Q: I have questions about gear and equipment, who can I contact?
A: All questions regarding gear and equipment can be directed to Adaptive Sports NW. Please see contact info the right-hand menu. Or, submit an Equipment Request Form here.
Q: What opportunities with LOPR are available outside of scheduled adaptive sports programs?
A: The gymnasium is available to daily users and LORAC members during all open or non-programmed times. We have limited wheelchair equipment and general sports (basketball, volleyball, pickleball) available for checkout at the front desk. Refer to the Online LORAC Gym Calendar to see open gym times.
Q: How do I know what sport is right for me? Where do I start?
A: Great question! Check out the ASNW "Sports" page to learn more about each sport or to view the "What Adaptive Sport Is Right For Me?" chart. We welcome you to join a "Try-It" program to get to know ASNW, the adaptive sports available, and ask questions.
Q: Does LOPR have other adaptive and inclusive opportunities?
A: Yes! We also partner with LOPR partners with providers such as Every Body Athletics, Special Olympics (Tennis), and Adventures Without Limits as well as lead blended instructor-led classes. Contact the LOPR Front Desk at 503-675-2549 for more information or learn more here.
