July is National Park & Recreation Month

Celebrating 40 Years of Park and Recreation Month!

This July marks the 40th anniversary of National Park and Recreation Month, and we’re excited to join communities across the country in celebrating the people, places, and programs that bring us together.

This year’s theme, Build Together, Play Together, highlights how parks, facilities, and programs help build strong, healthy, and connected communities for everyone. We’re especially proud that our Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Special Olympics program was featured by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) in this year’s national campaign!

Mayor Joe Buck will sign an official proclamation at the City Council meeting on July 1, recognizing the vital role parks and recreation play in our community’s health, wellness, and quality of life.

We’re honored to be creating inclusive programs that help every participant thrive, build friendships, and feel part of our amazing community.
