Commemorate the end of slavery with a community celebration honoring the historic day on Saturday, June 19 at 4:30pm at Millennium Plaza Park. 

The event is co-presented by the City of Lake Oswego and Respond to Racism.  Event program includes remarks from Respond to Racism cofounder, Willie Poinsette, and a keynote from at-risk youth advocate and former director of Portland’s Office of Youth Violence Prevention, Antoinette Edwards.  Festivities led by Emcee/DJ Avelanche and include performances from Conscious Ave, Randal Wyatt, Alex Addy and Julianne Johnson.  Poetry will also be read by Lake Oswego School District Students.
