Juneteenth 2025
Join us for Juneteenth in Lake Oswego, a powerful celebration of freedom, resilience, and culture! Emceed by DJ Ambush and Morgan Jones, this event features a keynote address from Taylor Stewart of the Oregon Remembrance Project, performances by Sebe Kan and Aaron Nigel Smith, and singing of the Black National Anthem by Arietta Ward, along with more inspiring performances and activities. Guests can peruse food, artisan and nonprofit vendors with the main program beginning at 2 p.m.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day serves as a time for reflection, education, and celebration of Black history and achievement.
