Celebrate the 4th of July in Lake Oswego! Lake Oswego comes alive with three exciting community events to celebrate Independence Day! Join family, friends, and neighbors for a festive July 3rd concert featuring the Millennium Concert Band, enjoy the 4th of July Parade & Celebration, and cap off the festivities on the 4th with a fun concert and a dazzling laser light show in the night sky.

Millennium Concert Band
Thursday, July 3 at 7 p.m. at Millennium Plaza Park

Start your Independence Day celebrations on the evening of July 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for a spectacular patriotic celebration featuring the Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band. The event will begin with a Presentation of Colors by the Lake Oswego Honor Guard, setting the tone for an evening of stirring musical tributes to our nation and those who have served.

The Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band is a premier symphonic band known for its dynamic performances and dedication to honoring American traditions. Comprised of talented musicians from the community, the band is committed to presenting high-quality, engaging concerts that celebrate patriotism and civic pride. Their annual July 3rd concert is a cherished tradition, paying tribute to veterans and active-duty service members through a powerful selection of military marches, patriotic anthems, and moving musical tributes. Each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces will be recognized, ensuring a heartfelt salute to those who have served.

This free, family-friendly event is the perfect way to kick off Independence Day celebrations, bringing the community together in a spirit of gratitude and unity. Food vendors include Kona Ice, Kristy's Down Home Cookin' and Scoop of Love. Don’t miss this inspiring evening of music and remembrance!

Star Spangled Parade & Celebration
Friday, July 4 at Millennium Plaza Park 
Parade Staging at 8:30 a.m.; Parade begins at 10 a.m.

Don your patriotic colors, decorate your wagons and join friends and neighbors for the annual Star Spangled Parade. Watch festive floats, musical entertainment, classic vehicles and costumed canines as they march down A Avenue to MIllennium Plaza Park. The parade features Lake Oswego's Fire engine, an authentic Fife & Drum Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, vintage cars and more! The Star Spangled festivities continue when parade participants arrive at Millennium Plaza Park with a party at the plaza! Enjoy a Presentation of Colors, singing of the national anthem, music, face painting, food trucks and more. Don't miss our annual Pie Eating Contest—a fun-filled tradition for both participants and spectators! Whether you’re ready to show off your pie-eating skills or just cheer on the competitors, this is an event you won’t want to miss.Think you have what it takes? Contestants must be 18 years or older to enter. Space is limited, so be sure to register at Millennium Plaza Park at 11:00 a.m.The contest kicks off at noon—come hungry and ready for some friendly competition!

Food vendors include: Briskets & Gravy, Carioca Bowls, Choux Pastries, Donut Days, Kona Ice, Kristy's Down Home Cookin', Romero's Kitchen, Saigon Bowl Vietnamese, Scoop of Love and Travelin' Tom's Coffee

Star-Spangled Parade Road Closures & Parking Restrictions – July 4

As we prepare for the 4th of July festivities, please be aware of the following road closures and parking restrictions in place to ensure a safe and fun parade day:

Road Closures:

Starting at 8 a.m. (parade traffic only):
• Iron Mtn Rd (between Chandler & Country Club)
• Lake Garden Ct
• Chandler Rd (from Chandler Pl to 10th St)
• Iron Mtn (between Berwick & Chandler)
• Evergreen Rd (from 2nd to 4th St)

Starting at 9:30 a.m.:
• 10th St (between Evergreen & A Ave)
• A Ave (from 10th to 2nd St)
• 2nd St (between A Ave & Evergreen Rd)
• Evergreen Rd (2nd to 4th St)

No Parking Zones:
• A Ave (10th to 2nd St, south side only)
• 2nd St (A Ave to Evergreen Rd, both sides)
• Evergreen Rd (1st to 4th St, both sides)
• Iron Mtn Rd (Chandler to Country Club, both sides)
• Country Club Rd (10th to Iron Mtn Blvd, both sides)

Vehicles parked in No Parking areas will be towed. Streets will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Lake Access Notice
Access to Oswego Lake from Lower Millennium Plaza Park will be closed from the evening of July 3 through the morning of July 7 for public safety during holiday events on and around Oswego Lake during the holiday weekend.

Independence Day Illumination: A Concert & Laser Light Show
Friday, July 4 from 8-10:45 p.m. at Foothills Park 

Independence day celebrations come to a close with an epic concert and laser light show. The fun continues with a concert from Hit Explosion, the Pacific Northwest's premier party band! The event closes out with a laser light show, a spectacular display of lights in the sky. The remarkable and unique display, features an explosion of lights and music, which will enchant people of all ages. Lasers take flight at approximately 10:15pm. Bring your blankets, pillows and low sand chairs and save a spot for family, friends and neighbors. Event includes food trucks and fun for all.
