Project Updates
October 16, 2023 - All Paving Work is Complete
All work is now complete on the paving project for 2023, including striping, cleanup and punchlist activities. Thank you for your patience while we made this important improvements to our roadways!
August 25, 2023 - Current Schedule
The current paving schedule and work hours for each streets is set as follows:

Work hours differ for each street depending on traffic volumes, type of work, and access.
We apologize in advance to neighbors inconvenienced by night time construction noise. Night work significantly reduces the duration of work in the neighborhood and impact to local and through traffic.
Full Road Closure - Briarwood Road
A portion of Briarwood Road, between Hwy. 43 and the railroad tracks is expected to be paved at night between midnight and 4 a.m. on Thursday, September 7. The work area will be fully closed to all traffic—emergency vehicle access only.
What to expect:
- Closure hours are from midnight (12 a.m.) to 4 a.m. Set up begins at 10 p.m.
- Work may include grinding away old pavement before paving. Construction noise and vibration is expected for nearby residents.
- Message boards will be installed before work begins.
- Final striping and pavement markings will occur at night later in September.

Night Work on B Avenue and E Avenue
Night paving activities on B Avenue, between State Street and 5th Street, and on E Avenue, at the intersection of State Street, will take place after Labor Day weekend.
What to expect:
- Paving work is scheduled to take place on E Avenue the evening of Wednesday, September 6, between 9 a.m. and 4 a.m., and on B Avenue the evening of Thursday, September 7, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Rolling lane closures, side street closures, shifting traffic, and detours may be in place during work hours.
- Residents and businesses within road closures will have access during most of the work, but may experience longer delays.
- On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zone. Watch for no parking signage—cars may be towed out of work zones to avoid delays.
- Activities may include grinding away old pavement, jackhammering concrete before paving, and compacting asphalt with vibratory rollers.
- Construction noise and vibration is expected for nearby residents and businesses.
- Final striping and pavement markings expected to occur later this fall.

August 17, 2023 - Anticipated Schedule
Paving is expected to take place the first week of September, after Labor Day weekend. Stay tuned for more details.
In addition, some pavement patching of smaller deteriorated areas will also take place on Blue Heron Road and Goodall Road.
June 2023 - Paving this Summer
This summer, the City will be paving several streets in Lake Oswego. Paving may include extensive repair areas, grinding existing pavement, and a new overlay or pavement of the driving lanes. The following streets are planned for paving rehabilitation:
- B Avenue, between State Street and Fifth Street
- Boones Ferry Road (southbound lane), near intersection with West Sunset Drive
- Briarwood Road, between Hwy 43 (Riverside Road) and half way to the railroad tracks
- E Avenue, at the intersection of Hwy 43/State Street
- Rosewood Street, between Pilkington Road and Boones Ferry Road
- Touchstone, between Botticelli and Kerr Parkway

Patching of smaller deteriorated areas will also take place on Blue Heron Road and a small section of Goodall Road.
What to expect:
- Some streets will be paved during daytime work hours, others will be paved at night.
- Please use caution around work areas.
- Watch for no parking signs and lane restrictions, follow traffic signage and any instruction from flaggers in the field.
- Expect delays and lane closures.
- Use alternate routes and avoid work zones.
