AN 18-0019: Certain Properties on Meadows Road, Meadow Avenue, Bonita Road and Carman Drive

This proposal is initiated by the City of Lake Oswego as an “island annexation” where the parcels are completely surrounded by land within the City limits.

Owners of the properties are:

  • WKL Airport Investments LLC
  • Ben and Laurel Mahar
  • Randy and Sherri Lynn Whiteman
  • Arnold Wight

Note:  this hearing was rescheduled from February 5, 2019 to March 5, 2019.

The City Council approved this annexation (Ordinance 2812) on May 7, 2019.  A copy of the adopted ordinance can be found under "Key Documents".

Please note that "Approved" dates do not represent the effective date of Annexations.

The effective date for the propery located at 5200 Meadows Road and the adjacent Meadows Road right-of-way will be posted on this annexation webpage 3 to 4 weeks after the City Council approval date. You may also contact Iris McCaleb at 503/697-6591 for more information.

For the remaining properties located at 5165 Carman Drive, 5195 Bonita road, 5215 Bonita Road, 4948 Meadow Avenue, one parcel with no situs address at 21E07AB00700 and 4950 Meadow Avenue together with the portion of the Meadow Avenue right-of-way adjacent to these properties the effective date will be on May 7, 2029.  However, pursuant to ORS 222.040(2), if the effective date of the annexation is a date that is within 90 days of a biennial primary or general election or after the dealine for filing notice of election before any other election held by any city, district or other municipal corporation involved in the area to be annexed, then the effective date of the annexation shall be delayed until, and the annexation shall become effective on the day after the election.

On Tuesday, March 5th, the City Council opened the public hearing and accepted testimony.  The hearing was continued to Tuesday, March 19th.
