Planning E-Permitting
On August 24, 2020, the Building, Planning, and Engineering Departments converted to a new unified permit management system, the Accela Oregon Model, which is hosted by the State Dept. of Business and Consumer Services-Building Codes Division. This application replaces three antiquated programs that were not integrated with one another and no longer maintained.
The City’s development services staff have reviewed their processes and received training on the new system, though as with any new software it requires fine-tuning and ongoing maintenance. We also remain committed to continuous process improvement. For example, customers without a CCB license (non-contractors) will still need to submit permit applications via email or delivery/appointment, as was previously the case, until an online app is created for the general public that integrates with Accela.
