The City Council has directed staff and Planning Commission to explore options for allowing greater flexibility in architectural styles in the Downtown Redevelopment Design District (DRDD), with a focus on properties along ‘B’ Avenue. There is a perception that “Lake Oswego Style” may be too limiting, particularly as the downtown has undergone significant redevelopment since adoption of the DRDD in 1997.
