PP 21-0004: Short-Term Rental Sunset Clause

The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing to make a recommendation to the City Council on a proposed ordinance to amend Ord. 2815, Section 4, to either remove the “sunset clause” or to extend the repeal date to a later date. If the “sunset clause” is removed, the short-term rental lodging code amendments enacted by Ord. 2815 would continue; if the date of the “sunset clause” is extended, the repeal date would be extended to the new date.

Project Background / Summary:

Ordinance 2815 was adopted July 16, 2019, amending LOC Ch. 50 to authorize “short-term rental lodging” within residential zones, subject to certain standards stated in LOC The ordinance contained a “sunset clause” (Section 4) to repeal the authorization effective July 16, 2021.
