Temporary Signs During Boones Ferry Road Project

The City Council adopted Ordinance 2822 in July 2019 relaxing temporary sign restrictions for a limited time for businesses on properties directly affected by construction of the Boones Ferry Road (BFR) Project. The temporary amendments provide greater opportunity for businesses in the Lake Grove area to maintain visibility during the 2+ years of construction for the BFR Project (completion expected in 2021). The relaxed regulations:

  • Eliminate the 25-day display period in any 12-month period limitation for temporary signs in LOC 47.08.305(2); and

  • Allow A-frame signs as a temporary sign type, subject to criteria to assure these signs do not interfere with construction activities, pedestrian or vehicle access, and that sight distance at driveway intersections is maintained.

Beginning on August 15, 2019, businesses on properties identified in the handout, Appendix 47.08.305-1, can apply for a temporary sign permit subject to the relaxed regulations. The relaxed regulations will expire upon completion of the BFR Project.
