LAKE OSWEGO -
We are so proud to announce that our very own dispatch center, Lake Oswego Communications (LOCOM), has been recognized by The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAEDTM) as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) for emergency medical dispatching. LOCOM is the 312th Medical ACE in the world and the only 9-1-1 center in Oregon with medical accreditation.
On November 1, 2022, Chief Burke and Captain Simon updated the City Council on our progress toward the recommendations from the Community Conversation On Policing (CCOP).
We are grateful to Mary's Woods for hosting us this last Saturday, October 29th, for a successful Drug Take-Back event! During the 4-hour event, we had 276 people walk or drive by and drop off 404.5 lbs of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications to be disposed of.
LAKE OSWEGO – Now that the school year has begun, the Lake Oswego Police Department, in cooperation with Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission, will be conducting underage alcohol sale operations throughout the city during the month of October.
During the operations, underage decoys will be sent to businesses and attempt to purchase alcohol.
LAKE OSWEGO - This week, we have become aware of a new phone scam that is targeting people with ties to our community. A male with a southern accent is calling people claiming to be Sergeant Tom Harper with the Lake Oswego Police Department asking for money. The police department will never call you and request money from community members for arrest warrants or any other circumstances. Sergeant Harper is an actual Sergeant with the Lake Oswego Police Department, but he is not calling anyone about arrest warrants or subpoenas. This is a scam.
LAKE OSWEGO – Shortly after 6:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 20, 2022, a Lake Oswego resident called police to report that their 2019 Range Rover had been stolen overnight from their garage. The vehicle was later recovered by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and a suspect was captured after he tried multiple times to escape by way of the Sandy River.
