LAKE OSWEGO – On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at about 11:00 P.M., a brutal assault occurred in the 2600 block of South Shore Boulevard. The 74-year-old female victim had just retrieved a package from her porch when she was attacked and brutally assaulted in her garage by a stranger. Fortunately, her husband discovered her in their garage shortly after the assault and summoned help. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.

During the initial investigation, DNA evidence was collected at the scene and a DNA profile for an unknown female suspect was identified. A sample of the DNA profile was later submitted to Parabon Nanolabs in an attempt to generate investigative leads through DNA Phenotyping and Genetic Geneology. The results from Parabon Nanolabs and the resulting investigation led to the identification of a 15-year-old female who has been positively identified as the suspect in this case. The suspect is currently in custody and has been charged by the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office with Assault 2 (ORS 163.175) and Burglary 1 (ORS 164.225). The suspect’s name is not being released at this time because the case is currently being handled by the Clackamas County Juvenile Department.
