Early Morning Burglary Results In Arrest
LAKE OSWEGO – On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a burglary occurred in the 4000 block of Parkhill Street. Lake Oswego Police arrested 41-year-old Portland resident, Nicholas R. Welter, for multiple charges after he was caught while leaving the area. One additional suspect is still outstanding.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Lake Oswego Police responded to a report of a burglary that was in progress in the 4000-block of Parkhill Street. The caller reported they had video of the unoccupied residence, and they could see two male suspects attempting to break in. Officers arrived in the area within three minutes, and one of the responding officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in an unusual location in the area and communicated that information over the radio.
Shortly thereafter, the officers confronted a male suspect in the back yard of the house, but he ran away. As another officer arrived in the area, he saw that suspicious vehicle driving away and drove after it. He stopped the vehicle nearby and determined the occupant was one of the suspects that had been observed on video attempting to break into the house. The occupant was identified as 41-year-old Portland resident, Nicholas R. Welter – a felon – and he was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.
Mr. Welter was arrested and lodged at the Clackamas County Jail for:
- ORS 166.270 Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- ORS 164.215 Burglary 2
- ORS 164.235 Unlawful Possession of Burglar Tools
- ORS 164.055 Theft 1 – Receiving Stolen Property
