LOCOM Dispatcher Graduates from Basic Telecommunicator Academy
Congratulations to our newest Basic Telecommunicator Academy Graduate, Emily Teters! Emily completed three weeks at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) academy in Salem in order to receive her Basic Certification, which the State requires for emergency dispatchers. This required training is to help establish a baseline of essential knowledge while developing dispatch and call-taking-related skills that students can take with them as they continue their training at their dispatch agencies. Emily is a fantastic addition to Lake Oswego Communications (LOCOM) and is known for her positive attitude. We cannot wait for her to continue her training in order to earn her solo status as a dispatcher.
Emily Teters
Emily describes herself as "... just a simple Oregonian who loves photography, true crime podcasts, and wearing socks with my Birkenstocks." She was raised on musicals, and even though she is tone-deaf, she has the audacity to love singing. She spent the last few years slinging drinks in various coffee shops between Oregon and Washington D.C. (most recently Willamette Coffee House in West Linn) and she prides herself on making the best cappuccinos. On her days off you can find her hiking with her dog Ash, thrifting, or buying more emotional support plants at the nearest nursery.
