National Telecommunicator Week 2023

LAKE OSWEGO - Every year, the second full week of April is set aside to recognize and thank our public safety telecommunicators. We are incredibly fortunate in Lake Oswego to have our own dispatch center, Lake Oswego Communications (LOCOM). The center is filled with these dedicated first responders who are incredibly hard workers that are the first point of contact when crisis strikes. They answer the 911 and non-emergency phones and direct resources to where they are needed. At the same time, they also answer the police and fire radios, helping to keep the police officers and firefighters safe and informed.

LOCOM also provides a very high level of service to the community, answering calls and assisting in situations that few other centers would otherwise. We are very grateful for their service to our department and our community, and we are proud of the work they do every day as part of our first responder team!
