Newberg Man Arrested in Connection with Sex Crime Investigation Involving Underage Girls
LAKE OSWEGO – On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at about 1:08 pm, Lake Oswego Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a sex crime investigation involving underage girls.
On Monday, July 20, 2026, police received a call from a parent reporting their 13-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by a 28-year-old man. Through their investigation, officers and detectives determined there were actually two 13-year-old victims, and were able to identify the suspect as Julian Ames-Bonilla.
Detectives located the suspect at a residence in Newberg and, with the assistance of the Newberg-Dundee and Sherwood Police Departments, arrested him without incident.
Mr. Ames-Bonilla was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on the following charges:
- ORS 163.365 – Rape 2 (2 counts)
- ORS 163.395 – Sodomy 2 (2 counts)
- ORS 163.435 – Contributing to the Sexual Delinquency of a Minor (2 counts)
- ORS 163.427 – Sex Abuse 1 (2 counts)
- ORS 163.425 – Sex Abuse 2 (2 counts)
