We are excited to share that two of our newer officers, Zoe Mirza and Blake Burnett, graduated from the basic police academy on Friday, July 14, 2023. Graduation was the culmination of 16 weeks of training at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) basic police academy in Salem, Oregon, where they get their start learning the basics of policing. Officers Mirza and Burnett will now continue their field training where they will build upon the concepts and skills learned at the academy.

Zoe Mirza

Zoe Mirza is a born and raised San Diego native who moved to Portland in 2018. She is married, has three little boys, and can be found camping or fishing with them during her free time. Zoe began dreaming of becoming a Police Officer at a young age and spent the last three years working as a Corrections Deputy at MCSO. She is dedicated to serving her community and building lasting relationships with those in it.

Blake Burnett

Blake grew up in Fairview Oregon with his parents and older sister. He joined the Navy after high school as an aircraft director on an aircraft carrier.
