LAKE OSWEGO- On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Lake Oswego Police Department and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office received separate reports regarding a social media video showing a male with a firearm making threats towards police.

Lake Oswego Communications (LOCOM) received a call requesting a welfare check on a woman after her boyfriend was observed during a live social media video appearing upset about a police response earlier in the day at an apartment complex located at 1 Jefferson Parkway. During the video, the male possessed a firearm and stated he intended to have a “shootout” with police.  Detectives determined there were Lake Oswego Police Officers on patrol in the apartment complex while the suspect was livestreaming, raising concerns for their safety.

Around the same time, Clackamas County Communications (CCOM) received a separate complaint involving the same video and shared that information with Lake Oswego Police.

The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Cory Michael Klein of Lake Oswego, who is prohibited from legally possessing a firearm due to his criminal history. Detectives obtained a search warrant and, with the assistance of Clackamas County SWAT, executed a search of the apartment.

The suspect was located and taken into custody. Investigators seized a firearm, several stolen license plates, and suspected methamphetamine. Police learned the firearm was stolen.

Mr. Klein was arrested and lodged at the Clackamas County Jail For:
