Police Honor Guard

The Lake Oswego Police Honor Guard was founded in 2010 and originally had seven members and an Honor Guard Commander. Today there at still seven police members and one Lake Oswego Fire Fighter on the team.

The teams main focus is to honor police officers and fire fighters that die in the line of duty. Members have attended services throughout the country and in Canada. They often participate in a variety of other local and regional ceremonial activities that are focused on honoring the United States of America, the State of Oregon, The City of Lake Oswego and other entities within the Portland Metropolitan Region.

There are several other local community events that you may see us participating in such as the Veterans Memorial Day event, Independence Day celebrations, High School sporting events, conventions and other ceremonies where the colors are presented.

Members of the Lake Oswego Honor Guard must excel at all aspects of military drill and ceremony, U.S. Flag protocol, ceremonial flag folding, funeral protocol and the ability to maintain positions of attention, parade rest or present arms for extended periods of time.

The Lake Oswego Police Honor Guard often joins other police honor guard teams state wide.
