The City of Portland Boil Water Notice ended yesterday morning. In the Lake Oswego area, this notice impacts the Lake Grove Water District.
For the entire City of Portland Water Bureau information release and needed information should you be impacted, please go to: http://www.portlandoregon.gov/water/article/405495 . Water no longer needs to be boiled. The Portland Water Bureau recommends flushing all taps for 2 minutes, or until the water runs cold, before consuming it for the first time. The Portland Water Bureau issued a ‘Boil Water Notice’ on Saturday, July 21, 2012 and removed it July 22, 2012. Customers of the Portland Water Bureau west of the Willamette River were affected. Customers of Burlington Water District, Valley View Water District, Palatine Hills Water District, City of Tigard, Lake Grove Water District, and West Slope Water District were also affected.
All water provided by the City of Lake Oswego was not a part of the Boil Water Notice. The City of Lake Oswego provides water from the Clackamas River through its own Water Treatment Plant and infrastructure. The City of Portland and Lake Oswego drinking water systems are separate. Although, both are regulated and must test regularly to ensure that water is safe to drink. For more information on the Lake Oswego water visit http://www.lotigardwater.org/
