Lake Oswego to Hire New City Attorney
Lake Oswego, OR - The Lake Oswego City Council has selected Ellen Osoinach as its new City Attorney. Ms. Osoinach, most recently a Local Legal Initiative Attorney for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press (RCFP), replaces former City Attorney Jason Loos, who resigned earlier this year.
“Ellen’s proven legal talent, collaborative leadership style and alignment with our City’s vision and values made a unanimous hiring decision easy for the Council. Our exceptional City management team sets a high bar and Ellen will fit the culture well." said Mayor Joe Buck.
“I’m honored the Council has placed its trust in me and look forward to putting Lake Oswego’s strategic vision into action.” said Ellen Osoinach.
Prior to her position at RCFP, Ms. Osoinach was the Senior Deputy City Attorney at with the City of City of Portland, Oregon, the Deputy District Attorney at Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and has worked for the Oregon State Legislature. Ms. Osoinach obtained her law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College.
Ms. Osoinach will begin work on January 23, 2023. City Council approved her employment agreement on December 20, 2022. Evan Boone will continue to serve as City Attorney Pro Tem until January 23.
