Join Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation, the Lake Oswego Skate Park, and the Youth Action Council on Thursday, June 21 - National Skate Day - as they unveil three amazing murals painted for the Skate Park!  The festivities will begin at 12 p.m. with the grand unveiling at 1 p.m.

Each year, the Youth Action Council (YAC) hosts events, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities for local teens.  This year, YAC planned to spruce up the Skate Park with three, large scale murals to be hung in and around the park.  Art students from both Lake Oswego High School and Lakeridge High School were recruited to help design, draw and paint the murals over a four week period in May and June.  Students received volunteer hours for helping with the project.

In addition to the mural unveiling, interested skate boarders can enjoy a free-skate day as well as a live DJ, refreshments and raffle prizes.  Some of the artists and YAC members will also be on site to help celebrate.
