Health Connect

Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation (LOPR) has partnered with the ACTIVE Network to provide patrons with an app that features a digital membership card, class schedules, park and facility reservation information, and other benefits. For example, the app offers fitness challenges which users can join and integrates with Google's Health Connect to collect the user’s calories burned, distance walked/ran and steps climbed. In accordance with Health Connect permission policies, the app will analyze the daily exercise data of users in Health Connect to calculate their progress and determine whether they have completed a fitness challenge. The challenge includes the distance covered, the number of steps taken, and the total calories burned by the user. Users can receive these challenges on the homepage, and when they accept a challenge, a prompt will appear requesting authorization to access Health Connect. LOPR will request permission for Distance Record, Steps Record, and Total Calories Burned Record from Google’s Health Connect. Once we obtain this data, we will display the corresponding exercise data and progress in the app, as well as update the user's progress. When the user's exercise data meets the target value of the challenge, we will indicate that the challenge has been completed. The app may separately collect information from you directly and passively. To use the benefits offered by the app, you must agree to ACTIVE Network’s terms of use and acknowledge its privacy notice. LOPR may add information provided through the app to your LOPR account profile. Your profile will be retained by LOPR until you provide notification to LOPR that you are no longer a resident of Lake Oswego or request your profile be deleted. ACTIVE Network may retain your data for up to one year after LOPR stops partnering with ACTIVE Network or as otherwise provided for in its terms of use and privacy notice. LOPR maintains reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information.
