Name an Unsung Hero ~ 2021

The Lake Oswego City Council is looking for Unsung Heroes.

This year, as part of our long standing tradition of recognizing wonderful acts of volunteerism over extended periods of time, we would like to acknowledge and celebrate the many above-and-beyond examples exhibited by our community throughout the past year and a half. As part of this effort, our Unsung Heroes Award has expanded to include the short-term, extraordinary efforts of community members, who stepped up throughout this unprecedented crisis in an ongoing fight against COVID-19.

The qualifications are that the person:

  • Is not paid for the contribution
  • Has not been widely recognized for the service
  • Is neither an elected or appointed official, nor is employed by the City
  • Performs the efforts within the city or the greater Lake Oswego area

If you know someone or a group, who was a hero long-term or short term, please take a moment to submit your story, we want to know!  Deadline for submission is Friday, November 12.

Awards will be presented at a City Council meeting in early December.

Please call the Public Information Office at 503-635-0257, for more information.
