⚠️ Winter Weather Update ⚠️

Friday, 2/14/25 at 5:13 p.m

Thanks to the all-day plowing and warmer temperatures, road conditions have significantly improved. We will continue to monitor for any risk of refreeze. Next week, we will begin the post-storm “clean-up” process. This includes returning to normal operations and sweeping the laid sand/gravel. Please be patient through this process.

While you are hunkered down, show some community love and help clear clear/shovel sidewalks that border your property. This is also a great time to clear a storm drain near your home or business as we prepare for the melt!

The Parks & Recreation Department will continue to assess inclement weather this week and staffing needs for programs and classes. Please check the City’s website for the latest updates on closures and schedule changes: https://www.ci.oswego.or.us/parksrec/inclement-weather-policy-and-procedures.

Lastly, huge thanks to our Public Works, Fire, Police, Parks, and Facilities crews for keeping our community safe during this winter storm! And kudos to our amazing community for staying off the roads, checking in on each other, clearing sidewalks, and embracing the snow day fun!

Friday, 2/14/25 at 10:23 a.m.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Fall head over heels for all the hard work our City team has put in! If you see them around town, give them a wave for keeping us safe.

Public Works has been out plowing all night and this morning. We have all five plows working major arterials and collector roads. The only roads closed at this time are Overlook and Fernwood. All City facilities are open, including the Library and Adult Community Center.

Please avoid travel as much as possible. Temperatures are rising this afternoon, which will improve conditions. We recommend hunkering down just a little longer!

While we have been focused on roadways and public facilities, we are all in this together. Please remember City Code requires property owners to clear/shovel sidewalks that border your property. This helps keep the community safe for everyone!

The Parks & Recreation Department has cancelled morning programs and classes for February 14. Please check the City’s website for the latest updates on closures and schedule changes.

Important reminders:

✅ Avoid travel if possible. Please wait until conditions are safer or consider using public transit.

✅ Make room for Public Works & emergency vehicles.

Thursday, 2/13/25, 9:50 a.m.

Snow is beginning to accumulate on roads and will continue for next few hours. The forecast includes a wintry mix of snow, wind, and potential ice.

Our Public Works team has applied anti-icer on major arterials and roadways and has shifted to 24/7 operations. They will be focused on clearing any snow accumulation to minimize ice formation on the roads.
