New Garbage Rates Starting February 1, 2025

At its December 17 meeting, City Council approved an adjustment to garbage, recycling, and organics collection service rates charged by Republic Services. Customers will see an increase on their bi-monthly bills from Republic Services starting February 1, 2025.

Rate adjustments are informed by an annual rate review analysis and increases are due to rising costs of disposal and labor, as well as inflation. Increases to residential collection service rates range from 2.13 to 4.45%, and increases to commercial collection service rates range from 2.47 to 4.57%, depending on cart or container size and collection frequency. This equates to an increase of $1.20 per month for residential customers with a 35-gallon cart, and $8.31 per month for commercial customers with weekly 2-yard container collection service.
