Trash and Recycling Changes

Effective Immediately- Please Note These Temporary Changes to Trash and Recycling Service

Garbage, Yard Debris, and Recycling will Continue To Be Collected.

To help protect the health of their frontline workers, Republic Services has asked us to comply with the following trash collection changes.

No bulky waste pickup. This means no large items like mattresses or cardboard can be placed next to the cart. An additional bag may be left aside your cart if it is tied tightly. If you are doing a large-scale clean out or renovation, please call Republic Services at 503-636-3011 to order a drop box.

All trash must be bagged and the bags tied at the top. No loose trash can be dumped into carts.

All drivers are having their temperatures taken before their shifts and they are being provided with personal protective equipment. Please give your driver space and avoid contact when they are servicing your property.

Other Trash and Recycling Advice:

If you are donating cans or bottles to an organization, or if you have can/bottle collectors in your neighborhood, please consider the greater public health and wash these off with soap and water so as not to transmit your germs to another person.

It is tempting to use this time for spring cleaning. However, be aware that you cannot put your excess goods onto the street for collection at this time. Other recyclers and collectors may also be closed for drop-off, so you may need to hold onto your items for awhile.  You can still bring material to the Metro South Transfer Station in Oregon City, or to the unmanned recycling drop-off bins at Willamette Resources, Inc. in Wilsonville. As of now, these are all operating as normal.

We will let you know about any other changes that may occur as Republic Services notifies us of them. Your pickup schedule will remain the same and solid waste pickup is an essential service that will continue to be provided.
