Budget Committee

Every-other Spring, the Budget Committee meets to review the proposed biennial budget rendered by the City Manager.  The Budget Committee studies the proposed budget, considers changes, and forwards their recommendations to the City Council for approval.  The City Council then holds public hearing, formalizes changes, and votes to adopt the budget before June 30th.

Meeting Information

The Budget Committee meets every-other year, as-needed (2023 is a Budget year).  Meeting details will be posted in the 'Upcoming Events' panel on this page.

Budget Committee meetings are televised on Tualatin Valley Community Television (TVCTV) Channel 23, 28, or 30. Visit TVCTV.org for up-to-date playback times and channels.

Meetings are also live-streamed on the City’s YouTube channel (link). Livestreams will be visible the day of the meeting, at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled meeting time.

Speaking at Meetings

The Budget Committee sets aside time at each regular meeting to hear from members of the community. If you would like to speak on an issue related to the City’s Budget, you may do so in-person or virtually. Please email Shauna Calhoun requesting a Zoom link at least 24 hours before the scheduled meeting or attend in-person and complete a public comment card.

During the public comment portion of the agenda, the Chair will call your name. Speaking clearly into the microphone, introduce yourself before beginning your three minute public comment.

Eligibility & Membership

The Budget Committee consists of all members of the City Council and an equal number (7) of legal voters.  Appointive position-holders serve staggered four-year terms.
