About the Municipal Grant Program
The Municipal Grant Program supports community non-profit programs and governmental entities that provide a community benefit.
Grant Criteria by Category

Special Projects: Projects undertaken by local non-profit organizations, or boards, commissions, and committees of the City of Lake Oswego that focus on supporting, enhancing, and stimulating the economic and/or environmental preservation and/or enhancement of the City.

Social Services: Services provided by any area non-profit organization specifically serving the social needs of City residents and assisting in enhancing the quality of life in the community.

Cultural Grants: Financial assistance to non-profit organizations specifically involved with enriching and improving the cultural life and experiences of residents of the City and/or the area.
Application Deadline
The City of Lake Oswego is taking these grant applications from non-profit organizations beginning January 1, 2024. The grant recipients will be determined by committee in the Spring of 2024 for funding for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024. To receive consideration, applications need to be submitted by 5 pm on February 29, 2024.

Budget
The City’s proposed funding for the Municipal Grant Program is $80,000 this fiscal year. Eligible grant recipients are nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. All submitted grants are reviewed and the $80,000 is divided among the recipients.
Project Ideas
Applicants must demonstrate that their project meets the grant criteria outlined above, with the goal of providing a benefit to the community. Within these parameters, the City welcomes new project ideas.
Following is a list of project ideas that have been implemented in past years and/or support the community benefit criteria. Applicants are not limited to these projects, but are encouraged to review the list for inspiration.
- Special Projects such as seating/resting wall at cemetery, and a boat for community rowing.
- Social Services such as emergency shelters for domestic violence, and a food pantry.
- Cultural Grants such as rotating exhibits of Lake Oswego history, and a center for arts education.
