Bike Commute Workshop

Wednesday, September 5, 2012 -
12:00pm to 1:00pm

Presented by the Bicycle Transportation Alliance as part of the annual Bike Commute Challenge, this one-hour workshop covers laws, skills, basic gear, and basic maintenance. This is a great introductory workshop for people who are new to bicycling or interested in learning more. Experienced commuters are encouraged to come and share their tips and favorite routes with fellow riders (and hopefully walk away with new knowledge).

Topics covered at the workshop include:

  • Basics of riding: traffic signals and signs, bike lanes, bike boxes, tracks, and sidewalks
  • Bike skills: hand signals, turning, changing lanes
  • Gear: bikes, helmets, lights, accessories, cold and rain gear, carrying kids and cargo
  • Q&A session

Free and open to the public; RSVP to Susan Millhauser, 503-635-0291.
