Bulky Waste & Mattress Recycling Event
The City of Lake Oswego and Republic Services are pleased to offer a free bulky waste and mattress recycling drop-off event for Lake Oswego residents on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This event is for Lake Oswego residents only. Acceptable items include large items that do not fit in curbside collection bins, such as:
- Dishwashers
- Stoves
- Dryers
- Water heaters
- Furniture
- Scrap metal
- Clean, untreated wood
- Gas-powered equipment and engines - all fuel and oils must be emptied
- Mattresses - recycling is provided by the Mattress Recycling Council. For more information about mattresses and box springs acceptable for recycling visit: byebyemattress.com/faq/.
- Shredded paper (already shredded), plastic film, plastic pails and buckets, plastic lids and package handles, and Pressed Foil Products – provided by Circular Action Alliance Recycling
The event does not accept:
- Items from commercial businesses
- Appliances with freon
- Construction debris of any type
- Propane bottles or canisters
- Paint
- Batteries
- Solvents
- Thinners
- Car tires
- Household garbage
- Recyclable materials (other than those listed above)
- Yard debris
Participants should only bring items that can be removed from vehicles without staff assistance.
The event will be taking place at Republic Services, 10295 SW Ridder Road, Wilsonville, 97070. Republic Services is our garbage/recycling hauler. Please note that this event is for Lake Oswego residents only. Items will not be accepted from commercial businesses.

Donations Accepted
To support Hunger Fighters Oregon Food Pantry (www.hungerfightersoregon.org), participants are encouraged to bring donations of unexpired, non-perishable food and essential hygiene items. Items most needed at the moment include cereal, pancake mix, rice, and canned chicken.
