Notes: Mounted on cardboard. White spot from tear; scanned as B & W. Same as 447. Newspaper article: 1905 Fish Pix Identified. Charlie "Peanuts" Didzun came to the Review office last week to identify the old picture of the five fishermen and their Chinooks. He guessed the picture was taken between 1905-7 by Will Bickner because it now is owned by Mr. and Mrs. William L. Crowe, his daughter and son-in-law. Edgar Davidson also took pictures during that period, Didzun remembered. All five now are dead. Left to right they were Rollie Worthington; Issac 'Ike' Austin (grandfather of Bob Austin); Ed Erickson (brother of Rudolph Erickson of Glenmorrie); Otto Larson; and Willie Austin, son of Ike Austin and uncle of Bob Austin. Didzun said catches at the begining of the salmon season often were a ton a night at the mouth of Oswego Creek. Salmon sold in those good old days for ten and 14 cents a pound. Now the price is around $1.80. Bob Austin still has his grandfather's motor from the boat on the right, no. 0300. Loose label: Rollie, Raleigh Worthington was the lucky fisherman with the big salmon. Others in his boat were Otto Larson, Willie Austin at the oars, Ed Erickson, and Isaac Austin. Harry Headrick is seated in the boat on the left. Anyone know the other two in that boat or the bystanders on the point? Time, 1905 to 1907. 1915 (m.w.s.)
Notes on back: George Rogers Park boat landing, 1905-9. Boat on left, back seat Harry Headrick. Boat on right Ike Austin holding the fish, Raleigh Worthington, Ike Austin, Ed Erickson, Otto Larson, Willie Austin. Cement Co. Hotel by River for Cement Workers of [unitelligible] OA#99.
